I grew up in Cyprus and spent my childhood creating small sculptures from steel scraps in my Dad’s metal workshop. Growing up on a divided island has driven me to work in exploration of division and boundaries, where friendships, neighbours, cultures, and land are fractured; in my art, I am always trying to explore these ideas in a way that can resonate with a broad audience. I choose to work with materials like metal and wood; for sustainability, where I can transform one sculpture into another; and because they are inherently political materials, due to their extensive use in the war industry. Even the feeling of the materials can inform the art, for example, working with metal gives me a sense of constant conflict, as I struggle to bend or cut it, questioning whether I will win or lose the fight. This battle with the material reflects the tension and resistance
inherent in the medium and is visible on the art, adding depth to the work.

I started working with Tomasz and Jordan in 2024 on The Enablers alongside my self-employed work as a sculptor and stage designer and, now we’ve formed the company, am exploring new ways of bringing mad ideas to life in creative and efficient ways. On one of our recent projects, I did creature work on a 3 Meter Monster puppet, which not only had to look intimidating and bulky, but was modular so it could be transported and rebuilt, to hit a short deadline.
